Speedy Preserved Lemon
We have a more traditional preserved lemon recipe on the blog, but if you need some and don’t have a month to spare, here’s a quick substitute that offers some of the same flavors without the wait.
INGREDIENTS
- Peel of 1 Organic Lemon
- ¼ cup Kosher Salt
- ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
DIRECTIONS

Cut the lemon peel into a fine julienne.

Mix together the salt & sugar thoroughly.

Add the lemon zest, mix it into the salt & sugar thoroughly.

Let the mixture sit for an hour.

Clean off the sugar & salt, then use the zest in your recipes.
