Smoky Bacon Bourbon Sauce

Smoky, creamy, & delicious, this sauce rocks & it’ll make any steak, burger, or sandwich you put it on rock too.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 thick slices of Bacon (we used Berkshire Bacon)
  • ½ cup Onion, finely diced
  • 2 drops Liquid Smoke
  • ¼ tsp Chipotle Chile Powder
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ cup Bourbon (we used Bulleit)
  • ¼ tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Pinch of Salt

DIRECTIONS

1

Very finely dice the bacon.

2

Add the bacon pieces to a dry (not oiled) frying pan or skillet over medium heat. Render fat out of the pieces until they’re crispy.

3

Add the onions, liquid smoke, and chipotle powder to the remaining bacon & fat in the pan. Reduce the heat to medium low and let the onions stew, stirring occasionally, for about ten minutes.

4

Stir in the tomato paste, bourbon, vinegar, salt & Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for about 1 minute.

5

Move the contents of the pan to a blender and puree them.

6

Serve with steak, on a burger, or on other dishes.
