Venison Recipe Challenge Winner!

Venison-Contest---WINNER

Ten creative food bloggers recently participated in our Venison Recipe Challenge! Each blogger was asked to create a fall or winter themed venison dish using one of the cuts of Silver Fern Farms Venison that we sent them. The bloggers produced an impressive array of recipes that highlighted the venison with fall and winter ingredients like mushrooms, cranberries, and pears.

Select members of our team had the difficult task of selecting their favorite recipes, but we also asked for your help choosing the winner in our public vote. The results of the votes are as follows:

– Public Vote: 1st place: The Modern Proper – 3pts; 2nd place: Grits & Chopsticks – 2pts; 3rd place: Reclaiming Yesterday – 1pt.

– Staff Vote Winners: Reclaiming Yesterday, The Modern Proper, and Make, Mend, Grow – 2pts each.

We’ve tallied up the votes and are pleased to announce that the winner of our Venison Recipe Challenge is The Modern Proper!

Winner

The Modern Proper’s hearty Chicken Fried Venison with White Wine Mushroom Gravy and Parsnip Puree did an incredible job of pulling in classic fall and winter flavors that pair beautifully with venison. Their beautiful, creative recipe definitely won people over in our public vote, as well as in our office!

As the winner of the contest, The Modern Proper will receive $300 credit to MarxFoods.com!

Our runners up, Reclaiming Yesterday, Grits & Chopsticks, and Make, Mend, Grow, also did a great job- we loved seeing all the different fall and winter flavors they incorporated to highlight the venison.
