As you would probably imagine, our mix of products can facilitate some rather interesting parties. So I wanted to tell you about one that is happening tonight.
When the order came through on Wednesday, our initial thought was that it was fraudulent. Only someone who had stolen a credit card would buy squid ink, alligator meat, szechuan buttons, ghost chilies, purple majesty potatoes, fiddleheads, dried matsutakes and maytag blue cheese, we thought. Random, right?
Our suspicions were heightened by the fact that the delivery address didn’t match the credit card address and the order needed to be shipped out pronto, both of which tend to be red flags for fraud. So, we did our due diligence and it turns out that this guy is legit. More than legit, in fact.
Matt (and especially his guests) have officially been added to our envy list. Matt from Irvine, CA is “having another exotic food festival. Imagine iron chef decided by children where we all learn and cook together, we begin with votes from attendees (which included several children) regarding ingredients … this 15 course feast will include the most exotic, bizarre, and rarest foods from around the world. ” Matt, you are definitely over the top, maybe a little mad, and you certainly have a set of balls (in addition to those inland oysters).
Check out Matt’s menu below … and stay tuned … Matt is going to send me some photos and other info about his feast and I’ll post them as soon as I get them. Matt, please hold off on the photo of the octopus happy ending. That’s too much suction for this man.
