Rendered Chicken Fat
Use the rendered fat to cook your eggs in it or fry meats like chicken strips. Store fat in a glass jar in the fridge.
INGREDIENTS
- Skin from 1 whole chicken
DIRECTIONS
1
Remove skin off the chicken and cut it into small to medium pieces.
2
Preheat a pan on medium heat and add pieces when warm.
3
Give it a few good stirs and render fat until all the pieces of skin are nice and brown. It should take from 10-15 minutes at least.
4
Remove cracklings and place them on a plate lined with napkins or paper towel.
5
Place cracklings on it and if you are a foodie that enjoys specialties like this, sprinkle some salt and pepper (paprika if available) on it and consume with thin slices of red onions on a toast.
