The Winning Morel Recipe is…

morel-contest-graphic-blogger-recipe-challenge-winner

The votes are in, and in an exciting photo-finish that had us on the edge of our seats, Peef and Lo of BURP Recipes’ Morel & Leek Strata with Lemon Thyme Biscuits recipe was selected as the best morel recipe in the morel recipe challenge.  Congratulations!

A very special thanks to all of the bloggers for banding together to create 13 new morel recipes!

Tess over at Tessipes narrowly missed the top spot with her Morel Tartlet recipe.  Jenn Cuisine’s Sausage, Sage & Morel Ravioli and Lindsey’s Kitchen’s Morel & Crab Risotto were also big hits.

We have an additional morel recipe collection, should you be looking for even more ideas for how best to enjoy one of the finest wild mushrooms available.  Most recipes will work just fine with dried wild morels, but will be even better made with fresh wild morels when they’re in season.

We want to thank EVERYONE for all the fun. And the votes! We couldn’t have done it alone. We also want to thank Marx Foods for sponsoring such a great contest.

To all the participants — thanks for giving us a great repertoire of recipes to make with our morel stash!

Tess and Jenn… you were worthy opponents to the very end! Thanks for bringing some real excitement to the competition!
