Pan Fried Turtle Recipe

This is an extremely simple way to prepare snapping turtle meat inspired by the way turtle meat is enjoyed in the West Indies.

Editorial note: none of us liked this recipe…but some people do…so, we’re sharing it anyway.

(serves 8-10)

Ingredients
1 lb defrosted boneless turtle meat
3 cloves of fresh garlic
1 cup white wine vinegar
2 cups olive oil

Cooking instructions:
1.  Roughly cube (~1/4 inch) thawed turtle meat.

2.  Finely dice the garlic cloves and add to the white wine vinegar and olive oil in a sealable container.

3.  Marinate the turtle in the marinade for an hour or more in the fridge.

4.  Remove the turtle from the marinade and fry in butter.
