Best Blogger Bean Recipe!

About a month ago we offered lentils & heirloom beans to seven bloggers, asking them to develop an original bean or lentil recipe using the samples.

Not only did they not know which of these varieties they were going to get…but they didn’t even know there was a possible reward for the best recipe.  We surprised them with the challenge invitation in their sample packages…just for fun.

They all entered the arena and fought well, but when all the steam and bean juice had cleared, one competitor reigned supreme: Maria of blog Kali Orexi with her Sausage over Creamy Golden Lentils Recipe.  Her presentation was simple, yet refined with a combination of flavors that had our mouths watering.  We salute you Maria, you truly are a legume legend!

In fact, we’ll do more than salute you…expect an heirloom bean sampler on your doorstep in the near future…

Honorable mentions go to Dark Side of the Fridge for their tasty looking Jamaican Chicken with Pink Beans Recipe (recently awarded our new “You Made Me Laugh Mofo!” badge) and Cooking with Kait for her vegetarian Marrow Bean Taco Recipe (great idea to use the meatiness of marrow beans in a veggie taco!).
