Maple Syrup Candied Walnuts

Candied nuts bring richness, sweetness and crunch to desserts, salads, and even some savory dishes. There are several different methods out there that give the nuts different additional flavors and textures.

This one’s one of our favorites because it’s so darn easy. We haven’t tried it with pecan halves yet, but we bet it’d be incredible.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 cup Raw English Walnut Halves

DIRECTIONS

1

In a deep sauté pan or sauce pan combine the walnuts and maple syrup. Stir once to coat.
2

Bring the syrup to a simmer over medium heat.
3

Simmer, stirring or swirling occasionally, until the maple syrup is absorbed & the pan starts to look dry (but before the remaining syrup starts to cook into a caramel).
4

Pour the walnuts out onto a silicon baking sheet or parchment paper to cool.
5

Use in your recipe or store in an air-tight container for up to a week.
